China Everbright Limited Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Guangdong Provincial Department of Transport
The China (Xiaoguwei) “Internet+” Transport Service Maker Contest drew to a close on 12 December 2015 at Science City in Panyu, Guangzhou, concluding a successful event that also saw the establishment of a key strategic cooperation agreement supporting the development of a nationwide intelligent transport sector.
To support the implementation of the agreement, CEL’s China Everbright eTransport Investment Company Limited and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transport have established the “Guangdong Internet Transport Service Industry Fund”. The Fund will build on the abundant resources of Guangdong’s transport industry to leverage “Internet+” and financial innovation and drive the in-depth integration of internet and transport operations, achieving transport interconnectivity at the provincial level.
The launch ceremony for the Fund was attended by Yin Lianchen, CEL’s Chief Investment Officer; Liu Yumeng, Managing Director of China Everbright eTransport Investment Company Limited; Liu Xiaohua, Deputy Director-General of Guangdong Provincial Department of Transport; and Li Weitang, a Standing Committee member of the Panyu District Committee, Guangzhou.
The “Guangdong Internet Transport Service Industry Fund” is committed to investing in growth enterprises and projects in the transport sector. In addition, it will spearhead the formation of the Internet Transport Service Industry Alliance of China as the Chinese transport industry’s first vertically integrated, internet-enabled value chain. It will also support the development of a transport service ecosphere with integrated online and offline features.
