Title sponsored by China Everbright Limited (“CEL”, stock code: 165.HK) and presented by Hong Kong Ballet, one of the most popular ballet productions – “Don Quixote” (total of 5 shows) were staged successfully from 25 – 27 August at Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The show was so popular with high-demand in the box office. CEL has been title-sponsoring Hong Kong Ballet for the third consecutive year after sponsoring the “Nutcracker” and “Swan Lake” in 2015 and 2016 which CEL would like to dedicate its efforts to support and promote the development of Hong Kong arts. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of HKSAR and CEL, CEL was invited by Hong Kong Ballet to be the official tour sponsor for its mainland tour of “Swan Lake” in four major cities (Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Jinan) and “Mixed Bill” programs in June.

As a China-background financial institution based in Hong Kong, CEL has always strived for serving the community through corporate social responsibility events. For the second time, CEL donated to Hong Kong Ballet’s Accessibility Fund that provided a chance for the families living in North West New Territories to experience the “Don Quixote” performance. Families in a total of 45 people from the two beneficiary organisations (Po Leung Kuk Children and Youth Services and Pok Oi Hospital Mrs Lee Ho Siu Fong Memorial Children and Families Development Centre (Butterfly Bay)) were offered free tickets to watch the show on 26 August (Saturday) at Hong Kong Cultural Centre. All the participants enjoyed the show very much and they thanked the sponsor for giving them a chance to watch this classical performance, while the kids also got to know more about ballet arts.

“Don Quixote” is packed with a fanciful storyline, lively cast of characters, gorgeous costumes, virtuoso dancing and eye-catching spectacle design, it is a must-see ballet for the family.
